Philosophy
Shaolin Monk Martial Arts teaches four main aspects of Shaolin:
Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chi Kung (Qi Gong) Meditation.
These four aspects make up the essence of Shaolin: Chan.
Chan is a "philosophy, a path toward cultivating one's body mind and spirit to become a better person for themselves and others. Training in the ways of Shaolin can be described as action meditation seeking to obtain enlightment through experiance of movement and action.
A famous Chan saying represents the union between body and mind Chan Quan Yi Ti [Chan Fist One Body]:
This means Chan and Martial Arts are one.
They are part of your spirit.
Martial Arts is used to master Chan.....to become enlightened.
